Hi Kris & Kalyn,

Your Spiritual Bali Retreat sounds amazing! I am setting off on a round-the-world trip beginning in March and the first stop is Bali. I will backpack around the Globe doing Humanitarian work and I was wondering if there is any type of work/orphanage/school/community issues that you, or someone you know is needing assistance with in Bali? The World is at my feet and the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step… I want to make a difference in the world and really embrace my “Traveling Gypsy” title ….maybe I’ll gain a little direction, guidance and check off a few items on the bucket list along the way. For those of you that don’t know me I am from the backwoods of North ...Eastern Kentucky where they have a blue collared, hard working approach to life. I am who I am, and that my friends is a Gypsy! A nomad in love with distant and uncharted places…wandering the World in search of new experiences and connections.

Why am I traveling? There is no “reason.” I am taking this leave of absence and traveling because I want to experience the World and live life to the fullest! I want to grab every exciting, crazy opportunity that comes my way and FEEL ALIVE! I want to take time to think about things that matter to me rather than what is next on my to-do list. I want to fumble through my phrase books, draw in my sketch book and play charades with vendors until they understand what I want. I am independent, but I am lonely and I want to travel and connect with people in a way that I can’t explain. I want to understand what I really miss when I am away from home. I want to hike to the top of mountains and gasp at the sheer beauty of this world. I want to volunteer and serve people that really need my help, and in return, be reminded of how incredibly blessed I am.

I fear the thought of looking back when I am older and regretting that I didn’t allow myself to experience this world the way I wanted to. I have picked up many tips and tricks along my travels about culture, history, mannerisms, food and language. Each time I travel to a new country the locals that I meet are usually under the impression that Americans are uniformed about the World that lays beyond the US borders. I would like to help change that preconceived notion and help educate and inspire people about the World around us and teach them to embrace other cultures and give them a chance to look at life in a whole new perspective...

I hope that we cross paths in the near future and if you have any tips on places for me to begin, please let me know :)

Love & Light!

I have been to Bali in April 2011. Just love the place. Stayed at Inna Putra Bali Resort.
Beautiful Hotel. Would like to visit again. People of Bali are absolutely friendly and hospitable.

Beautiful choice of images to convey some of the special essence of place in Bali. Are you familiar with the Pura Sad Kahyangan? These are important spiritual foci in Bali. If you are there in January 2011 let me know. I'd enjoy meeting you. You're already following me on Twitter where I'm maximos62
